Theres a strong possibilty I may have to drain my tank and put in some fresh. I sta-bilized it in october, but replacing it is part of ongoing troubleshooting being done on my bike in an effort to isolate a problem with my engine's unexpected rough running and poor idling. (blue smoke out the can too) The tank is full...like 4.5 to 5 gals. My question is...how do you legally dispose of this much gas? Ive taken used oil to gas staions for recycling, but this gas issue is a first for me. Have any of you been faced with this? Or should I just say "fuck it" and dump it on my neighbors front lawn and toss a match?![]()
Find someone with a big old v8 truck and give it to them. I'll take it!!!
degsy
please don't dump on the ground
idea:
any water in there will sink..
separate it...
then filter the gas through a clean cloth... that ought make it
good enough for your lawnmower at least.

Why can't you just use it in your car?

stick it in your car ... nothing wrong with stabilized gasoline ...

I thought about that...I was hesitant cuz if the gas is messing up my carbs (gumming) then wont that be bad for the car? The cars engine is FI. I did stabil the gas...and its not 100% known if bad gas is the problem, but its a consideration until the actual culprit is determined by looking at other possible causes first. I appreciate all the input.
just put it in your car, the gas cant be that bad. or find something to burn

I had some bad gas in my tank a few months ago so I drained it. I only had about an eighth of a gallon left so I used it to give the wood in my fire pit a head start. That was not such a good idea. The flames had to have reached 15 feet. I probably didn't give my new neighbors a good feeling about me.
As you can see, you have plenty of options for actually using it. Any lawn/yard equipment (that doesn't use pre-mix) will run fine on it. So will your car. If you're skeptical, I'd bet you can find a handful of people here that'll take 5 gallons of stabilized fuel off your hands...![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
It should pass through a fuel injection system OK. The higher pressures and pulsed systems don't get gummed up like carbs do. Plus - if you're putting it into a car tank you're diluting it with 10 or 12 more gallons of gas. Put it in the car and drive it. If you're really concerned, throw in a bottle of dry gas as well. Good luck...
