I don't see anything wrong here
The big question is whether or not I can re-use the crank or even reuse the cooked rod?
This was Black Squirrel 441 (AKAMongoos441) engine. He had a number of what I believe to be were seizing moments that led to a total failure down in Jennings FL. One of his crashes he believed was because of a vapor lock. I think it was a seizure. One day he brought it over my place to be worked. Come to find out it needed 2 quarts of oil. This was a warning. In turn we did a total oil change only to find out that the oil was metallic.I told him that I think there is more to this engine than just being down 2 quarts of oil. Before he headed off to FL I told him to constantly monitor the motors performance and be ready at a moments instance to pull the clutch in at any moment.
Well he listened. The motor had a total seizure and he was able to keep the bike upright by pulling the clutch in.

For a Motor That was Dead, It was fast as stink Really Fast. Ask the 12 SV's I beat un LWss. The first time I rode it. It also Won a race when I had my hand up and the bike in Nuetral when the green flag dropped (wave confusion) From the last row I launched when the first Row was into turn 1. The highlight of my racing to date. If the motor did not fry I would still be racing it
I hope the is something there you guys can use,
Cause you guys are the Best
The pics do make my Hand hurt

The bulb burns brightest before it burns out.
Usually cranks and rods can be cleaned up and bigger bearings used. I dunno about bikes, but I've done it in cars with a spun bearing. If it seized the rods should be checked if they're bent. It needs to be sent to a machine shop that specializes in motorcycle engines.
My education rep. in the VA is friends with a guy in Maine that does crank work for some racing teams. I forget exactly what he told me, but do you me to find out his info?

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
Looks good to me...

Personally, if it were my race bike, I would buy new rods and have the crank checked and balanced at a reputable engine builder's recommended machine shop. Once all that is done, you can measure and order the appropriate bearings. Honda sells a shitload of different thickness bearings.
Running a bike a few quarts down on oil lowers the weight....makes it faster....
I know a guy!!!!

This is obviously caused by leaving used oil in the engine for the Winter. You can see how badly the acidic combustion by-products in the oil corroded those rod bearings and crank journals. Imagine how bad it would have been if it wasn't two quarts low! Probably would have dissolved the oil pan.
Did it go... braaaaapppp.... screeeechh... clang, cracka boom boom...?

Yes this can happen...many a motor has been ruined this way....
BUT...For all those out there that just put their bike away wet :-)...
If you ran the motor hot for about 20-30 minutes before putting the bike away - there is no issue with leaving the “old” oil in the bike... over 20 minutes at temp the oil is hot enough to outgas all the bad stuff....
BTW the worst thing to do is start it & warm it up a few times though the winter... just let it

Nice work Gino. You sure know how to kill a crank!!!

Credit goes to Daniel for this one. I only know how to find the problem ones
At least I did not run into this issue:
