I've got D&D's on the bike and it's just gotten too damn noisy compared to what it sounded like 20k miles ago. The end caps are held on with 4 bolts that come right out but the thing won't budge but 1/8".
Can you heat chrome sufficiently to expand the pipe without burning the chrome finish? Going to try hard maple as my chisel. The ends are aluminum which I've already marked a bit from the original attempt that utterly failed.

Try penetrating oil yet?
Friend: man riding this really hurts my balls
Me: Well you're not supposed to sit on your balls!
pm hondarider102 i know he took his D&D's apart once. can't remember how.
might have been just lots of penetrating oil and yanking on the pipe lol

It doesn't take much heat to expand the can. try a hand held propane torch and wave the flame over the can so it doesn't get too hot in one spot. This shouldn't affect the chrome at all. When it's hot Spray PBBlaster on the seam and when it cools down it will wick in.
Tried that. Wife's arm got tired and I fell asleep.
PBBlaster with some heat might do but the seam from the can to the cone is tight as a nun's cunt. I may need to heat/beat/reheat and soak. It's gonna get a beating regardless. Holy shit I must be getting old. A Triumph twin is getting too loud![]()
