    Re: Helicoil?

I actually use the screw hole to hold my video camera mount (a three point mount) so it does need to function somewhat. Well tonight I used these Heli-Coil like things that Auto Zone had (Fix-A-Thread) and it worked like a charm. Took like 5 minutes !

Ream it with the tap wrench, insert the coil and tried to break the tang,
think its just bent straight down but that didnt matter as its just in the hollow space between the plastic tank cover and real gas tank.

Beautiful when things work like they should!

I just like to make things more challenging then they are!
Don't want it to be too easy!

Plus what would you guys all have to read for entertainment? Huh?

Rider Down threads, and debates about which tires are best for posing?
    depressing!

Speaking of posing I think we need a Landsdowne night soon. Maybe even the North end?

Actually, you really dont need to break of the tang if the bolt doesnt have to go past the bottom of the last helicoil thread. Good job Bro. You are really starting to impress me with your mechanical skillz!! haha

Actually it is still working. $120 repair versus an almost $1,200 bill from Mini to take the head off and sleeve the hole.
