I'm fixing second gear on the bike.
So I've pulled all the bolts that hold the lower case onto the engine of my '97 ZX9R, but I can't get the lower case to break free. Right now the engine is sitting in the shop with a lever jack on the clutch side pushing against the upper and lower halves. I've used a propane torch to heat up the gasket, but it hasn't broken free yet.
HELP!!!
And before you say it, yes, I made sure all the bolts have been pulled.
Deadblow/rubber mallet and heat -- helps a lot to do this after the engine has been running a while. Position a 1" wooden dowel on the cover tabs (extending through the other side of the bike) and tap on it.
