    Need Help With Chain/Sprocket Change

I bought a 520 conversion kit that i need to put on my 2005 Honda Cbr 600rr but I noticed that the master link requires a riveting tool to do it properly. Can someone Help me out or let me borrow there riveting tool? I don't have the cash to pay $60-$130 for a nice kit. I will buy one later on but trying to get the bike up and riding for Sunday's ride. Please help?

I'm in Middleboro, if you aren't too far I can come to you or meet you. Trying to fix the bike tomorrow or most likely Saturday.

Harbor freight sells a cheap riveting tool that might get you back on the road, but like all HF tools, probably isn't tough enough to be used by a professional day in and day out.

You might need an impact wrench for the front sprocket nut too. They can be a real bitch to remove. Regardless, loosen that nut before you remove the rear wheel so that you can use the rear brake to keep the sprocket form turning.

I have somehow ended up with no less than THREE chain breaking / riveting tools that I don't really need... however I'm in Waltham and without a ride at the moment. You are welcome to one of them if you're looking to pick one up (they are always good to have around, I just don't need four!) maybe $50?

I have one I paid $20 for on ebay. Being prepared always helps. If you ordered the tool and the kit at the same time they'd be here. Anyways it works just as good as any $120 one imported by someone in USA and repackaged at a huge markup with their brand name stamped on it.

Use a grinder or bolt cutter to cut off the old chain.

Good advice. Don't forget most bikes have a locking washer that you bend the metal tab out to keep the bolt from moving, bend that down first. I keep the bike on the ground and in gear so I don't have to hold the brake on the opposite side of the bike while trying to loosen the sprocket nut. You can also toss a block of wood in the wheel spokes and let it torque on the swing arm.

So no one is near me that I can borrow a rivet tool from? Not sure what to do. I have a list of tools I will buy this riding season, just don't have the cash for it just yet. Just trying to get the bike up and riding tomorrow for sunday's ride.

Is there a list of names and their fetishes posted in the paddock somewhere I can refer to and know what to expect from each? I can't remember all that shit.
