Dear All,
Please I need your help (URGENT)
My bike's crankshaft is totally dead and I asked a lot of dealers concerning 2008 or 2009 crankshaft but they all replied that they don’t have it anymore.
The question is: can I buy 2010 crankshaft and install it in my 2008 engine?
Awaiting your reply as soon as possible.
Thank You for your concern

What do you mean by "dead". You may need more than a crankshaft.
You would be better off just replacing the engine.
i mean, it is broken and can't be used again. i just want to replace it with 2010 crankshaft.
is that Possible ?
Any help my Friends ?????
The 13310-MFL-020 crankshaft is listed for both 2008 and 2010 engines. Should work fine. That said, Partzilla seems to have the other 2008 code in stock: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detai...0-MFL-010.html too, so if you are really concerned, you could simply order a 13310-MFL-010 from them.
Its...not as easy as a Replacement part. And I am sure more is going to need replacing so you may just want to look for another motor

You'll also need to set the bearing clearances since your old cases are matched to your old crank. The new crank is going to need new bearing caps and the only way to know what size is to measure it. Sorry if I sound like a dick, but based on your question it doesn't sound like you're equipped to do that. It's not rocket surgery, but you've got some homework to do.
Dear All,
Thank you very much for your help ,,, really I have known a lot from all of you.
I will go through the Manual Service and do my homework.
I went through this website http://www.motorcyclegoodies.com/oem...nkshaft-piston and i found the most updated crankshaft for the CBR1000 Model 2008.
Really, I love this beast very much. It is very light and strong.
I love My Bike and I know that I will pay too much but he deserves the cash.

You may be able to get around measuring the diameters on the new crank v. the old with precision gauges by using a plastiguage and determining the clearances between the mating components that way. http://www.plastigaugeusa.com/how.html
I'm thinking if he can't find a crank, splitting the cases and verifying bearing clearances may be challenging. Has anybody else suggested this??
