So what might it mean if the oil light blinks 5 times, then goes away for about 10 seconds, then blinks 5 times, then goes away for about 10 seconds....etc.
i've gone through and the entire system seems fine, which leads me to believe it has to be electrical....sensor failing or something of that sort. The bike itself runs fine.
Any ideas?
id say the sensor.
have you checked the r6 forums?
I haven't yet, I meant to do more digging to find the issue but it slipped my mind until last night when I was working on the bike for tomorrow. I'm not even sure where or what sensor to look for. Last race weekend a lot of people told me it had to be electrical and if the bike ran fine to finish the weekend without worry....so I put electrical tape over the light as a temp fix lol. I'll hit them up though.
i agree if the light (electric) is going off obviously it HAS to be electrical.
seriously though it could either be a yamaha code? or even a faulty oil pressure sensor.
cant be a big deal.
id check the r6 forums like i said. sounds like it may be a common problem.
BTW i like the tape fix. next time my gas light comes on i may try the same thing!![]()
the service manual says if it flashes 10 times with a 2.5 second pause then its an oil level warning, but its only about 5 times. And I know the oil level is correct...heh.
might just be the sensor failing though. do you have the service manual?
id say find out how to get into diagnostic mode and see what codes pop up.
this has to be something minor. i think if you were having a real issue the light would just stay on and you would noticeably see/feel/hear a problem.
yea i can't find anything in the service manual about the light flashing except for the oil level issue.
I could check the oil level switch for continuity....not sure where to find the switch tho....just gatta keep reading i suppose
EDIT: found where it is, just not sure which switch it actually is...i'll have to look tonight.
id be more than willing to help you out, but i dont know shit about r6's i am sure its technically similar.
ill ask some of the people i know with r6's and see if they know anything about it.
ill check back later.
Of course we're all assuming you actually checked the oil....
my 1st educated guess would be the sensor has failed.
my second guess (less popular) is that oil is not getting to the sensor. In other words, make sure you fix it.
haha yes, checked/changed the oil and filter.
I'm going to test the sensor tonight. I'm not really good with electrical systems so, should be interesting...
The Milf trade is a bit of a bear market currently. Usually over the winter Milf share values look a bit more optimistic as they look towards the spring. Now that we're in the third quarter you'll most likely loose your shirt.
Hookers and Bar Sluts still remain steady and sound ventures however.
silver medal milfs are still milfs my friend. i like the electrical tape fix. nice touch.
Just some dumbass
