What is a good product for painting a four into one exhaust flat black? Interested in a paint that is highly heat resistant, and won't flake near the engine, whereit is obviously the hottest...
cheap way out that works = Krylon BBQ PAINT spray can
sand blast and paint never had a problem!
Ceramic Coating in Concord NH. He did my exhaust and he is very reasonable on the price.

+1 on the ceramic coating.
+1 Grill paint...its a flat black...stinks like hell when it heats up at first
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.....
How long does the grill paint last when it's hot and gets a little water ?
That would be a little improvement over what I have know..
Beat It Like A Rented Mule !!
Legend in my own mind
I painted my outdoor firepit with it last year...been outside a while..no issues yet.I just did the exhaust...smoked for about 5 minutes..took it for a ride ..good to go so far.

I've had good experience DIY with Rustoleum or Ace (same thing) BBQ hi heat.
And don't believe everything you think.
I've had good luck with cheap barbecue black also. It is cheap enough that once thorough paint job has been done, every few months I'd cover the engine with a piece cardboard placed in back of the pipes and touch them up right on the bike. Sleazy I know, but it worked just fine. Oh yeah if you do it that way watch your overspray.
Painting a can... you can get away with the BBQ paint like others have said.
Painting headers...No way I don't care what paint you use, or how you prep it, the heat is just to much.
You could consider Header wrap for headers and comes in many colors. usually lasts a couple years no problem.
Ceramic is by far the best choice and will last the longest.
Good Luck
I agree with Eric on this one, headers will make the metal alot hotter than the can.... I tried paint with my first Buell, and it didn't last longer than a couple of weeks without flaking off. I have wrapped the exhaust and it looks good and will last alot longer than paint.
