    early for prep?

opinions if it's to early in the season to start to change the bikes oil with fresh one, and change air filter and plugs perhaps, I will hate to get the bike all preped up and for having it sitting in the garage for a couple more weeks, i only been out twice thus far. I have all the goods sitting in my roon and i'm having a itch to start taking the bike apart.

fellow gixxer rider, i had the same thoughts as you are having right now. i usually wait till i'm ready to ride to change the oil but if it's sitting in the bike for another week or two, it wont be any different than sitting in a bottle for a week or two. just get it over with, because there will be some really nice days coming soon that you'd be wishing your bike was ready.

You are definitely not too early. I prepped mine in March of 2002, mere moments after it was delivered.

    Re: early for prep?

Everyone does things differently but why not do all your maitenance work in the winter when there's snow on the ground so when spring comes around you don't have to do anything, just take her out and ride!

Like a lot of people said already. Bunch of people have done hundreds of miles. You just have to be careful of sand since the roads are still dirty.
