Hey guy and gals,
So I finally found out where the oil is leaking from in my bike, the drive assembly bearing (see pics). But now I have the problem of removing the bearing, I really don't want to take the engine off epically because this bearing is designed to go on and come off from the outside. If anyone has a bearing pull kit like this one Blind Bearing Removal Tool Kit Sealey AK999. And you are in central or western Mass I would buy you a beer for your help if you could lend me the puller.
Thanks a lot!

Can't see you pictures and I don't have a puller like you linked, but would one of these work? See: OTC Bearing Puller W/Slide Hammer - Model 1173 at Sears.com
Unfortunately, mine's lent out and far away, but they are readily available. It works prefectly on a Mercruiser stern drive gimbal bearing. I cannot imagine there's a bearing on your bike that's bigger than a gimbal bearing.
Thanks for your help guys, but I just got the replacement bearing in and my worst fears were realized. There is a grove that goes all the way around the outside casing of the bearing... for the top and bottom halves of the crank case. So... tomorrow I start taking the engine off
Should be good times, hahaha. Going to have take pics of every part I take off so I know exactly what goes where when I put it all back together... good thing I found a service manual on yahoo groups for this damn bike.

Just as a point of observation, that kind of bearing damage is usually caused by a way overtightened chain..

Thanks guys, almost have the engine off, I will make sure to degrease and scrub her down after I have her off the bike and before I open her up. I admit I will have to hold back my enthusiasm to get that damn bearing out in order to get it all cleaned. Any suggestions for how to mount the engine on my work bench to work on it? thanks

make a stand? something you can bolt to the lower engine/case mounting points
