Cracks develop on the weld of the catalytic on my mid pipe. We attempt to weld ... and well ...
Question is, can I throw a wrap and be ok until I source a new midpipe or get this to another welder?
If you were me... what would you do? I'm trying to make the next round next weekend.
Also... this is an akra system. That can only be sold through ktm dealers. And they won't sell the midpipe as a standalone unit. I have to buy the full system. 900$. Fuck.

Titanium?
Took a welding class at Artisan Asylum and the instructor welded TI bike frames for a living. He went by the name "Skunk." From the work he showed us, it seems like a really skilled welder might be able to repair it.

Don't think it's Ti. A description online says durable high strength steel. Maybe a blend?

Too much heat, too little patience.
Jb weld should be good, but I'd wrap it as well.
The thread title brought me back to my youth when a soup can and two worm clamps would fix and exhaust leak in my $300 cars.
Yale Muffler Cement. Works wonders... have some on my SV, held together during the wet races.

I found a few small pinholes in a V&H 4-into-1 that I was prepping for high temp powder. The first attempt to MIG weld them shut resulted in larger holes. I turned down the current and tried again with much better success. I'm sure yours can still be fixed.
That's it, I'm changing my avatar to the sarcastic green smiley. Jesus people, it's humor. I was drawing a tenuous connection between the fact that my bikes are usually old enough to vote and Isaac's bike is in contrast still smelling of India(ns).
