If I need replace my master link, because of ... lost parts, and I wanna go with a rivet version, do I need to use the exact brand/type of chain? Or as long as its a 520?

Assuming this is not a winter troll question, get as close as you can to the brand/type of chain. Even within the same brand 520 o-ring family, there are many differences in pin length, side plate thickness, o-ring/x-ring squish, etc. Anything you can get riveted on there would probably work, but for $10 get the right damn thing and never think about it again.

I just had to do a bunch of research on this because the DID ERV-3 chain on my motard doesn't make a clip style master, only rivet. Mighty inconvenient when switching from track gearing to dirt/ice. Longer chain needed and I'm not cutting and riveting each time. I found another DID chain clip link with all the same measurements but a lower tensile strength. Should work for my 40 horse mule.

I know, but it is transmissible through internet contact. What chain do you have? Is it a difficult link to find? Mine was obsolete, but they're still floating around ebay.

No, is not tough to find. But I don't feel like dealing with the stealership, and they were more expensive than others on amazon. Oh well. Price I get for being lazy.
