Question Bleeding rear caliper, 1984 Gpz900 PITA

I flushed out the old fluid and started pumping
in fresh stuff from a new unopened container.

I seem to be unable to rid the line of air.
Clear line on the bleeder fitting going into a container.

I pump the pedal, crack open the bleeder and then shut and release the pedal.
When I pump up the pedal it does not build up pressure.

I do not see any leaks.

    Master cylinder shot?
    Faulty bleeder fitting?
    Procedure wrong?

Any insight would be a blessing.

    Thanks.

how many times have you tried to bleed it? are you bleeding manually, or using a vacuum pump like MitiVac? did the caliper and master have fluid in it before you flushed it out?

Unbolt the caliper from it's bracket, hold it up higher than the master. You may have to unbolt some brackets to free the brake line for this. Get it up as high as possible, then place a spare rotor, big arse screwdriver, something in between the pads to keep them spread while you work. Bleed with it up in the air like this and you should be fine.

    I'm bleeding it manually without a vac-pump.
I seem to be following the manual to a "t".

I have almost pushed a full container of fluid thru the line.?????

The caliper and lines had old fluid at proper levels prior to taking on this task.
I did open the bleeder and push the old fluid thru while adding fresh to introduce clean/new fluid into the system.

I can unbolt the caliper and get it higher than the master and will try that trick.

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Thanks Kurlon and DB.

I unbolted the caliper and got it higher than the master.
After a few pumps, etc. I witnessed quite a bit of trapped air coming out.

The pedal is much better now.

    Cheers!
