Ducati/SingleSidedSwingarm folk (Degsy need not reply)

    chain cleaning/rear stand questions

    1) do you use a rear stand, if so is the rear wheel able to spin? somehow the logic here escapes me.... Is there like bearings in the pin that spins on the stand when you spin the wheel or does the whole axle just spin on the pin? If its the latter i guess i could get away with using a steel rod and my 2 sided stand right?
    2) do you have a rear stand i could borrow?

I measured the inner diameter at exactly 26mm i assume this is the correct pin size unless it runs .5mm less for ease of use? This is for my hyper btw

    3) do you have any good stories about cleaning your chain or any stories that you may have heard that would provide a good laugh it can completely unrelated to SSS's as long as its about motorcycles and drivelines. hell you could throw in a story about belt drives and other completely pointless and shitty drive systems of your choice. enlighten me.

(Stoneman is a shitbag that doesnt appreciate a post that remains on topic but doesnt answer his questions. I on the other hand welcome them as they add this illogical sense to a thread when you have to sift through 30 posts to find the answer to simple questions.... Have at it!)

oh except fingers being lost.... those stories are not welcome here makes me sick that

    a) people are that dumb

    b) that they actually post pictures and parade their stupidity on the internets. i mean this place is for intelligent discussions and debates about stupidity. I dont want those people to be part of the discussion i am trying to have while they are not around....

    p.s.

the questions are legit this thread is fair game for chains and chain maintenece discussion but please people dont take the rest seriously

except for jay and derek you 2 crossed the line.... seriously, I am serious!

    p.p.s

Jim, i wont be at hooters tomorrow....

I built a rear stand and doubled up on the bearing. Inboard and outboard system to support the cantilevered weight. I also put a 2 or 3 degree angle to the pin so when I ran the bike in gear to oil the chain the bike would fall into the stand and not walk off.

We can get you a Pit-Bull reversible SSS rear stand.... they are very nice, and have 2 pins so you can remove your wheel AND lube the chain with ease. The ID on the sprocket side is different than the ID on the wheel side.
