I have a 4 wheeled ATV that the wiring has been butchered. I would like to know how to either hook up the existing switches or put my own in. The engine runs if I jump the starter but the relays or whatever they have are not like a car so I have no clue what I'm up against. I do not care if it goes from original switches or if I have to put my own in, a simple schematic would be helpful. Thanks for any info.
Welcome to the forum? What kinda ATV is it?
EDIT: nevermind, just saw your other thread
I'm actually going to move the two threads into the Maintenance section if you don't mind.

You can use a starter solenoid for a garden tractor. They re cheap and easy to find. You need a NO SPST (normally open single pole single throw) momentary switch for a starter switch, one side of it will connect to the + battery, the other side will connect to the small spade terminal on the solenoid, use 16 ga wire. You'll need a 12 GA or thicker wire going from the + battery to either of the threaded posts on the solenoid, and another wire of the same gauge going from the other solenoid post to the starter. Connect the base of the solenoid to chassis ground (battery -). That's it for the starter circuit.
Yeah, I'd just toss the chinese wiring completely save for the CDI box. From there wire it up like you would a ground up dual sport conversion, with a good rectifier/regulator going directly to the battery, a simple starter solenoid as Stonky directed, modern switch gear, etc.
