Bad news. I found out yesterday that my wife's teaching position (She's a choir director) at her school is being cut for next year. So no bike, or no anything fun for that matter. I don't know if it's bad but I'm more upset about the idea of not having a bike for this year than I am about my wife being out of a job...

Anyway, thanks for all the help and advice. I'll probably lurk around living vicariously through everyone.

4300 or walk? haha... lace up your nikes. If it's minty, I'd say $5500 shipped is fair. $5000 plus shipping? I've been looking for 06-09 R6's, they range from $5k to $7500. mileage doesn't change value? From what I see, it sure does. I think bikes drop a bit over the 10k mark. So, if I am planning on keeping a bike for a year or two, I would rather get one with 1k miles and be able to sell it again with under 10k, then buy one with 9k, and take the price drop.

However, I do think you could find a honda closer to home that you can go touch and feel before you buy, for as low as, if not lower than the $5500. ESPECIALLY with hondas because of the massive factory incentives.

Buy my old one from Doug, I babied the shit out of it.

Sure, although it was actually kind of a weird situation. I never got his phone number. When I first asked about the bike he said he didn't want any phone calls because he didn't want his wife to find out he was selling it, she wanted him to keep it, which was a new one to me. So all communication was kept over e-mail. I'll send you over his contact info though.

Also just as an FYI. He may have changed his mind on selling, I'm not sure. When I told him I wouldn't be able to buy he said he was kind of relieved because he was having second thoughts.
