Need a custom map for my 07 gsxr1k, recommendations on a good shop in ME, NH or eastern MA? Thanks
PM TLRMAN on here
he'll take care of ya.
he's in Peabody
Not that TLR man is not worthy but I would and Did go thru Jamie @ FuelMoto....he has any map that you could need. I have a Jap Yosh shorty and he was the only on with a Map that I could find...and it was a Killer power curve at 156.4 Hp with just bolt on stuff...mine was 265 shipped and he has an eBay and Paypal acct.

If you're near southern Maine, Moto Milano in Windham has a Dynojet 250i with eddy current brake and is fully setup and trained to build custom maps for PowerCommander equipped bikes. They also use the heaviest drum Dynojet offers, so they can get more repeatable results, and more consistent data to build the map off of than the other Dynojets installed in the area.
For the most part, put it on the dyno. The problem is that your bike is sitting there spinning a loaded drum. Now, you got your nifty map that works good on the dyno, and shows all that booming HP you got. Now drive your bike on the street, and I'll bet you will notice some spots that annoy you. This is where I come in. The idea is to tune for a wide spectrum of torque, and HP, that works well on the street. Who cares what it does on the dyno at max HP,and RPMs, is this is where you ride all the time? Your bike was designed to roll on pavement, and mingle in traffic.
Most bikes have "ram air", and this can't be compensated for. Sure, maybe close, but there are issues with air intake temps, and general temperature of the engine as well. I have always noticed differences from "Driving the Drum", and actually riding the bike in a "Real World" environment.
I guess I do have a reputation for finding things that can be made better, but
I'm just here to lend a hand, no claims to fame, or getting 150 HP out of your Gixxer 600. Just sorting out the bugs, and giving you good all around performance, and drivability.
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
If that's the case, someone skimped out mapping the lower throttle settings... it's tedious and time consuming as you typically can't use roll on mode, instead having to go cell by cell... but that doesn't mean the only way to do partial throttle mapping is by hand. It just means the guy doing the mapping needs to A) understand what he's doing and B) be willing to put in the time to do the job properly, not just a couple roll ons and call it good.
Or Motty's AFR tuner Motty AFR Tuner
Power commanders and dyno tuning is obsolete. Wide band tuners that do the tuning themselves...that's where it's at. wanna run race gas? top the tank off and ride the bike, it'll do the rest. want to drop in a jacked out set of cams? go for it, ride it to tune it. wanna ride out west and change 5000 feet of elevation in a day? ah, just go. she'll tune herself.
With the PC and custom map, it's good for that day, when its done. what happens tomorrow when it's 20 degrees colder and no humidity?
For the cost of the PC and a dyno tune, you can spend another $100 or so and score a wideband AFR tuner![]()
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
Oh yeah, and who's accusing me of running a Motec box on my TLR?
You mean the TLR isn't supposed to redline at almost 12,000 rpm's?
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
$48 is expensive? and all race gas is leaded?
So someone start reprogramming the ECU's and lets make Bazazz and Motty's AFR tuners obsolete
How does the OEM o2 sensor manage to work correctly then? Wouldn't you still need a wide band sensor?
Hey Mark
Once I get my trumpet sorted out I will be coming to you. I am having a running issue that I think dealer may have to sort out.
2006 Ducati Monster S2R800
Well, on the gixxer 1k, at least the 07+ that sensor, from what I heard, does nothing more than tell the ECU the cat box is hot. You can jump it out, remove it, throw it in the trash where it belongs and the bike will run the same as it did before you removed it.
Yea, it's not exactly wide. It's pretty damn narrow
The problem is emissions....Dynojet paid a hefty fine because the PC's were able to alter the fueling enough to make the bikes "dirty". Enter the "Green Powercommander". But as everyone knows, dirty, sometimes means a better running engine. You know as well as I do that 14.7:1 AF ratios don't make good HP.
