I bought a Vance and Hines SS header for one of my bikes from ebay and it looks like came off a junk yard bike and its almost black... Whats the best way o clean it? I almost want to use my die grinder and a "brillow pad" like bit but dont want to scratch the pipes up too bad. Any suggestions?
Thanks guys.

WD-40 and a light scrubbing with 0000 steel wool (called "four ot") should do the trick.

BonAmi kitchen cleaner. Seriously. It doesn't scratch, cleans metal like the business.
Well, at least it took the melted sneaker off my muffler.

I have a set of SS headers i bought off ebay so far i have tried a bit for my die grinder that is for paint removal, definitely left scratches but I can clean that up, also tried maroon scotchbrite pad which works pretty well, and some "nevr dull" I think the scotchbrite and then the nevr dull is the best setup so farIm not looking for perfection its going a bike i want to get rid of but at least want to make the header look a little better worst case scencario it gets wrapped so theres no pressure at all lol
