Hey all, I have to remove my foam seat pad to repaint my tail. How would I go about removing the adhesive from the pad to prep it for going back on the bike? What type of glue do people use? Thanks.
Goo Gone is a popular adhesive remover. WD-40 also can be used. You'd apply it and let it soak into the glue for a few hours, then scrape off.
I would imagine any heat stable flexible glue would work to apply the foam. Shoe Goo would be my first thought.

There are plenty of different adhesive removers out there, so you could probably find a bunch of options.
Turtle wax makes a label and sticker remover in a spray can. I bought some a couple years ago because the side panels (stick on) were peeling off my Silverado. I grabbed it since it was a good size can, and it worked really well. It smells citric based (like many of the removers), and works best when you spray it on and let it soak in for a little bit.
Still have a tiny bit left in that can, and I use it whenever I need to remove jday/HS stickers, especially when they've been baked on real good.
I'm lazy so I'd probably just slather rubber cement on top of the existing glue and slap the seat pad back on.
I'd be a little cautious of anything that dissolves glue might dissolve the foam too.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
Ah. In that case, mineral spirits.

Heat gun on low to soften the adhesive and WD-40 or mineral spirts to clean it off
I'm partial to SEM Solve for sticker funk, but above recommendations work.
