O.K. new sprockets and chain are on the way. What do you use? chain wax or spray lube? Last chain I used "special" Suzuki spray shit with stringy shit in it. Chain never kinked or anything but the side plates rusted and I would like to avoid that this chain.

I clean the chain with wd40 everytime I wash the bike( about every 600 miles, so roughly once a weekend), then use chain wax.

Clean the chain with paraffin (that's kerosene to you colonials). Spray on A LITTLE chainlube. Take the bike for a quick spin to warm the chain up (5 minutes), then spray the chain liberally with lube, wipe down, leave to set overnight.

..by the way. I will be selling my own brand of chain lube this year. Randy has been trying out the samples we have already come up with. The company I am a partner in is part owned by a chemical company and they were interested in making motorcycle chain lube, so we put some together. Should have the finished product ready for sale by June.

Personally, when I wash the bike, I clean the chain with some Dubbya-D. Then I'll take it for a quick 10 minute jaunt to warm up the chain a bit. THEN I'll put on some wax. When it's not washing time, I'll usually put a bit of wax on when I return from a ride, while the chain is still warm. Following the above procedures, I've had chains & sprockets last me over 20,000 miles consistantly...

Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Most of my ritual is similar to the others'. For o-ring chain, I do the WD-40 wipe down after a full bike bath & shop vac blowjob. If planning a multi-day trip, I use that Maxima chain wax stuff to fend off any possible precip- that wax shit stinks like hell and is a bitch to clean off, and it also flings a bit when heated. Normally I just run with the WD-40 (kerosene). The only benefit I see to using the wax is as a moisture barrier, to keep the chain pretty. Recently I picked up some Bel-Ray Super Clean chain lube, which seems like an improvement over the Maxima wax product. Dries tack free, no nasty funk, and it even looks clean.
