Finally won an AM race. Beat my carrot 2 of 3. Good times. 1 second off my PB pace set last fall (1:26.5, pb is 1:25.5)
I'd type more but you don't care and my finger hurts too much to type it for myself.
Competing with KB for the longest report?
Congrats on the win!

Bags of carrots. Nice. When you pinkie heals tell us more. Inquiring minds want to know.
Congrats on your first-ever AM victory!! I had more but it would make it longer than the original post :-p

Nice, Dan! Sorry I didn't call last night... The muscle relaxers were winning the battle. Call this evening after work![]()
This report lacks luster.
All the typing you've done since you posted this and you seemingly can't get an honest to goodness report posted up for your fans?!!??

I forgot all about this. I'll get to the real report now. Thanks for the cuntpunt buddy.
edit: I have fans?!

OK, here's the real writeup:
Goal was to show up Thursday at sunrise and ride all day. Got the bike running @ 2PM on thursday. Showed up late, just hung out.
Went out for practice Friday and felt HORRIBLE! Turns out the bike has these levers next to where I hold on, this twisty thing under my right hand and a moving part near my left foot. Couldn't for the life of me remember how any of it worked, and figured the weekend was going to be a total wash. This feeling stayed with me until the last session. No idea what changed that session, but I suddenly remembered how to ride a motorcycle! It was a really nice change, and the confidence boost was MUCH needed.
Saturday practice I was a bit off pace but felt good. Everyone was off pace so I didn't let it get me down. There was a big boost when I realized that I was running faster than my carrot, the dude that wins EVERY AM ptwin race.
Sat, AM Ptwin: Got a less than stellar start. OK, I'll be honest. I couldn't get my bike into gear at the line, so when the flag dropped I was pushing the bike backwards with my feet and kicking the shifter. Got it into gear and proceeded to 12 o'clock it. Cut the throttle, set the front down, whacked it open again and 10 o'clocked it. Got it BACK on the ground and took off with work to do. I think it took me 2 laps to catch Don, at which point I was right on his ass. After a couple laps I was still on his tail, and felt like I could pass him. I was afraid if I did he'd use me to drag himself back to pace and pass me back on the last lap, so I just settled in behind him to study his riding and decide where to make the pass. Last lap, T6 I came around his outside and went hammer down. We'd been running 28s, I ran a 26.5 on that lap and felt like I had more. I didn't have the best drive out of 12, so I was worried he'd out-drag me to the finish. Took the checkered for my first AM win! I sat up and SCREAMED at the top of my lungs into my helmet "FUCK YEAH!!! I FUCKIN DID IT!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA". I can't even describe how I felt, to say I was walking on air would be an understatement. I'm pretty sure anyone on pit road watching heard my screaming. Fuck it, I worked long and hard for that win and I don't care who knows how excited I was.
I feel like I should be saying more to convey the feeling. Anyone that saw me that day/night will tell you, I was like a kid in a candy store. Straight up GIDDY.
Sunday, the rain overnight shorted the power to my camper so my alarm clock didn't go off. Missed both practices as a result. No big deal, they were rain practices and we were racing in the dry.
Sunday AM GTL: Got a so-so launch and tucked in behind don. It was a 20 minute repeat of PTwins, I followed him until I saw the last lap flag, made the pass into T6 on the outside AGAIN and drove it home. It was a back of the pack finish, but I'm on a ptwin EX against SVs and dirt bikes. My only goal for the race was to beat Don again, and I did, so it was a win to me even if it wasn't even a podium according to official results.
Sunday LWSM: Got a HORRID launch. My clutch did something weird that I still have not figured out, so I was fiddling with the leather shaking my head from the start to T1. Don got a HUGE lead over me. I rode too hard trying to make it up and kept making mistakes. By lap 6 he had 2/3rds of the straight on me. I managed to reel him in for the last lap, and even got beside him twice but couldn't make it stick. On the last lap I tried to repeat my T6 move, but there was no way he was letting that happen 3x in a row. He drove that thing WAAAY deep into the bowl and barely touched the brakes. It was impressive. He got the win and I took second. Still great racing, and if I'm going to lose that's exactly how I want it to happen - down to the wire great racing. He earned the hell out of that W.
Overall it was an AWESOME weekend. It was great to see all my friends again, make real life friends with some internet pals, etc.
I've gotta throw out thanks to my teammates (all of Piston Pit Racing), my garage mates that are not on the team, Advantage Contracting and CommSat (our sponsors), Kurtz, Dana Temple (HUGE!), and a bunch of others. If I were try to remember every person I should be thanking, I'd never get this thing posted and I've already upset my fans by slacking for too long with this report.
Also thanks to Dave, Erin, Palmy, and everyone else that was on the pit road cheering me on for LWSM. Sorry I couldn't pull a third win for you guys, I saw you rooting for me and cheering from hot pit and it really meant a lot. I've never had "fans" giving me that kind of support and encouragement. I really wanted to pull out a third W for you guys.

Thanks dude. I'm still STOKED! I worked long and hard for this, and to have it all come together was a feeling I can't properly convey.

Thanks dude, it's much appreciated. As for that W for the carrot, he earned it. He drove that thing into T6 like his throttle was stuck and he had no brakes. Them tires worked black magic letting him make that turn.
That is waaaaayyy too much reading!
