Only doing this case Jim hates it, and I love pissing him off. So onward and upward.
Decent weekend, got times I wouldve killed for a couple weekends ago, but unfortunately not the results to go with it.
Friday practice: Got a total of 7 fast laps in. Kinda sucked, but I got to work on a couple things I wanted to try (turn 9).
Saturday
Race 5 SSIN: Checked the grids, theres supposed to be 49 bikes on track. Holy shit. Fortunately they split it, so all AMs run alone. Of course, this means I'm not getting lapped, so Ill hafta go the full 8 laps haha. Lead for like 1/2 the race, then get passed by the kid on a Kawi and some 2stroke, they check out in short order. Cruise around into 3rd place. New PB of 1.23.1 which was when I was in the lead. 5 of the 7 fast laps in the 23s.
Race 9 ULSB: The first lap I didnt get the hole shot in a while. Kid on the Kawi launched the fuck out of it and beat me into 1. Pretty uneventful race cruise around, get passed by Bergs (I let him go cause I was afraid he'd try to butcher me AGAIN). Finish 5th with a best lap of 23.5.
Sunday
Race 2 Motard: Somewhat uneventful, got the hole shot, led for a bit, but my bikes got NOTHING for that Kawi and an Aprilia 550, they get by me in short order. Barber gets around me somewhere, chase him, but no luck. Take 4th with another PB of 1.23.0 with all 7 of the fast laps in the 23s.
Race 5: LWSM: Got a good start, even passed the guy in the row in front of us. Cruise in first for a while, Barber tries to go around me in the bowl, clips my boot which throws me off line slightly, he takes advantage and passes me in 8 under the tree house. Chase him the rest of the race, but no such luck. Take 2nd best lap of 23.6 5 of the 6 fast laps in the 23s.
I should be happier, but the results just werent there. 19 out of 27 laps in the 23s. Another 1.3 seconds off my PB.
Overall, my main goal was to work out 9 better, and I think I did. I couldnt believe how much speed you can carry through there. I used to full on brake there this weekend I tried just a downshift and a could times feel like I could still go faster through there.
Ended up working on my braking into 1, just kept going deeper and deeper and still thinking I could carry more speed into 1. Ended up passing a ton of people in 1. By the end of the weekend I was braking at the flag station if not a little later.
Next things to work on: Turn 10 need to get on the gas a LOOOTTTT sooner.
Also need to practice passing people that are like a second a lap faster than me. I just never seem to have the balls to shove a pass in somewhere, or able to spot a place to do it.
Thanks to all the alley/t1a friends of course, all the NESRs that showed up, we had a good bunch there, and of course, my old man who finally made it back to the races after like 2 years.

FUCK YEAH BRUTHA!!!! 23 FLAT!!!![]()
That's awesome dude, I'm pumped for ya. You & Seth both look super smooth out there. Once the race craft (passing) comes together, I see you on the podium in short orderPassing is definitely a learned art... it's all about controlled aggression & being assertive... knowing when you have room & more importantly, when you can MAKE room!
22's to finish the season???![]()

Sorry I just didn't have it to mix it up with you and Bergs. Was not feeling it at all, completely lost in 6 and 1.![]()

Since u told me 30 times about passing me into 1 in practice, I was not at race pace FYI. Aha, good weekend though man I think your results were great and u looked strong.

Great writeup and congrats man. You looked awesome out there. Tia got a bunch of pics of you T6-T8 on Saturday, I'll link to a big picasa later and email me for anything you want originals of. You look good through that whole section.
I'm still figuring the new 1, but I love it. It's fast, and I've been doing some outside passing going in with plenty of room to brake later.
I think turn 9 was my last BIG time drop. I'm thinking its gonna be a tenth or two at a time from here on out. I need to get on the gas sooner in 10, thats the next biggest. Need to carry a bit more speed from t1a to 2. Harder on the gas at the apex of 6. 12 and 12a I need to tighten up my line a bit. And of course, my nemisis, 3.
Hoping to hit 22s next weekend, maybe another big change![]()
Didn’t you start the season doing 26s? That’s already -3 for the season. I can’t believe how much everyone is improving this year!
Are you laughing because its pink? Thats awesome because it makes me laugh too!
Great watching you in the races Sunday!!
