Yeah I hear ya on workin on it. I don't really have a place to work on mine that's easy to get to either, and I hate workin on shit at the track. And yeah, losing 2 seconds means you are probably missing some power.

he sure does have a purdy mouth...
Small update, found at least one issue that'd explain the power loss... the exhaust valves had about 4 times as much clearance as they are supposed to on one side, and infinite clearance on the other... the tappet bolt and nut are gone.
That explains the hard starting - automatic decompressor isn't functioning due to the excessive clearance and even when you do bleed some off via the manual decompressor it's not as much as normal as only one valve is opening.
It also handily explains the horrid dyno run data, the excessive valve noise I thought I heard and the bike running stupid rich.
I never noticed a change in the bike's behavior since I've had it, so I'm guessing it's been like this for awhile. Damn lucky it didn't grenade the motor fouling on the cam chain/etc. I'm going to pop the stator cover and flywheel off and see if I can locate the broken bits. If so that means I just need to pop the top of the head off, and swap in a new rocker assembly and I can run the last race of the season... with full powah!
...
Anyone got a spare KTM RFS head kicking around that I could borrow an exhaust rocker assembly from?![]()
good news man, find those parts!
