School
On Friday I participated in the advanced school with penguin. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it turned out to be much better than I had anticipated. The track-walk with Eric Wood was not only helpful from just getting to look at the track surface at a walking pace but also an eye-opener into how much I need to focus on finding more markers and creating a visual database that I lets me assemble the track in my head. Eric was able to sketch portions of the track from memory with details that I had never even noticed - something to work on.
By the end of the day, my head was filled with more information than I could handle and the track-walk made me wish I had a video camera. I couldn't write down notes fast enough. It was information overload, but all good to hear - even if it was too much to apply in one day. Although the course was great for getting to know Loudon it included knowledge that could be applied to other tracks as well, such as how what makes one corner entry biased versus exit biased, and how to dissect it from there.
Practice and races
Practices times were closer to my racing times, an improvement over the past two weekends where I was a second or two off pace. I had a great position on the grid for all three races (LWGP on Saturday and GTL and LWSB on Sunday). I was able to get great starts for all the races and get into 1st within a lap and maintain until the finish.
It was a great a weekend and I enjoyed pitting with Aaron (RocketPunch) and Brady (Brady). I'm looking forward to round 5!![]()
you were riding very well. I enjoyed the play by play over the PA, especially for the last race "#500 Chris Aho is running away with this one too" or something like that. I thought it was pretty funny.
