Thursday practice started off my rough weekend with my first crash ever. Came into T1 with a false neutral and panicked, grabbed clutch and brake, then ended up trying to break through the tires. The tires won. After that I continued on as usual, running consistent 1:19s.
Fridays races didn't fare all that great either.
AM GTU
Started off the racer with nearly being taken out going into T1. Felt a little tension on the rear so I opted to go around the oval. This is when I was stopped by the corner workers thus causing me to play catch-up the rest of the race. I ended up with a 3rd out of 10.
AM HW Superbike
Once again, I got a pretty bad start. Wheeled for a ways and went into T1 at the back of the pack. Again played catch-up most of the race and finished in 5th with 1 DQ ahead of me so ended up in 4th.
AM MW Superbike
This was the best one. Started off and stayed in 1st the whole race. Had Roger Ealy try to make a move on me a couple times but was able to hold him off to take the win.
AM Unlimited Supersport
Went ok, finished 4th out of 18
AM MW Gran Prix aka The Classic
This is the one that got me. Started of very well going into T1 and was on Justin Pallein's rear tire for the first 7 laps. Finally my teammate #183, Josh Gallusser, made a move on us both going over the hill in T8 to take a short lead until he lowsided in T12. I then past Justin to take the lead in T1 when he went a little wide. This was also a short lead, I went into T3 as usual but as I was coming out I must've given it a little to much throttle going over the transition. The rear came out then I brought it back a bit but couldn't keep it. Ended up getting shot over the bars and laid side ways somewhere in T4. Scared to shit that someone was going to run me over. I must say that the corner workers and medics were to me extremely fast.
Long story short I was brought home last night to go to my local VA Hospital. I ended up with a broken 5th metatarsal (the pinky bone in your foot) and some pretty knarley bruises on my arm and rear.
As for the bike, well she was pretty torn up. From what I could see the main parts were:
-Broken fairing stay
-Bent Wheel
-LCD for PC
Tough luck man, glad you are relatively okay. I was watching the classic from the bowl, you looked really good for the laps you put down. I was waiting for you to make your move for the lead... its too bad you never got the chance.
A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
Quite the report. Congrats on that win!!
That was a nasty looking highside. Glad you're relatively ok....I was thinking it was going to be worse, glad it wasnt. Sounds like you had a good weekend before that.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
Yea I'd say that it defiantly could've been worse. I'm not looking forward to being stuck home for the next few weeks though. Looks like I'll be getting my practice with Modern Warfare and Battlefield lol.
Glad you're OK Brendin.

Thanks Mike!
I was able to view this get off from my garage spot, I will say that was a seriously ugly spot to end up laying on the pavement!!! I was amazed and glad to hear that you were not seriously injured as this was one crazy crash to watch.
I wish someone got it on film or at least some pics.

LOL Yes I am.. Thanks for looking after me and helping me out John!
Just a follow up, I had my appointment with the orthopedic this morning and he gave me some awesome news. While the bone is broken, I don't need a cast and will only be out for 2-3 weeks. Then I go back for a follow up to see about putting weight on it. As of right now I'm in a Velcro shoe that just keeps my foot from banging off of anything.
Damn man sorry to hear about the NASA launch, but at least you are relatively ok. Sounds like you are moving on that thing. NICE!

I can now understand the nervousness people have for getting on a bike after a wreck....
I need to get to a track to practice. STAT!!!
