I DIDN'T CRASH!!!
For the first time, I didn't crash this weekend.
We left NH around 3pm got to NJ about 11:00. Joe already had a spot picked out for us. WE pulled out the bike, unloaded the trailer, did some of the safety wiring i had left then decided after seeing the track to change gearing again. I went with a 16-42. I think after racing a 43 would have been better.
Saturday, 1st practice i thought ht gearing was way off, second practice i realized i was going way to slow in the first and the gearing was close.
The straights where LONG and the turns where wicked long. There where two blind corners, both apexed right before you went over the ridge so you could hang it wide open right at the point where you could not see shit... Kinda scary but awesome all the same. The bowl was huge and let you spend a lot of time at full lean it was really great for getting a good feel of what the bike was doing.
First practice i ran 1.24, second 1.22 both uneventful.
ULSB: Got a bad start and with the tall gearing i went into 1 last. ULSB includes superbike SV650s there so it was a rough race as all the bikes had WAY more power than my hawk. It took a couple laps to get settled in, I was keeping some experts in site and by lap 6 i was in second in the amateur race, stuck behind a slower expert and thinking a had a really good shot at a win. coming out of the bowl onto the straight, 4 bikes blew past me.. by the end of the straight the gap was huge. I caught them all by t3, but felt down on power, i passed two back by 5, then went to pass the slower expert into 6, got to the inside down shifted and heard a pop, saw steam and water.. Put my hand up and pulled off. I had overheated.
With the bodywork on the bike, and spending so much time right at red line it was to much to take. I think the motor is good but i still have to go through it. I ran a 1.20's in the race and would have went 19's or 18's had i got some clear track i'm sure.
AWESOME weekend. I will be back there soon i hope!
Did you run the Lightening Course? Sounds awesome AJ! Talk to Trouble about the over- heating thing...he's got a couple fixes for that.

Thanks!
No we ran thunderbolt. I had a bigger radiator on there before, had to replace it cause i broke a tab. I will put it back on but there are many other reasons it overheated. Ill get it sorted. Just hope the motor is ok...
No no.... you were on Lightning. Either that you're about 14 seconds a lap faster than I am
Good luck w/ the bike!

Great job AJ!!
Sorry to hear about the radiator but mission accomplished..![]()
Thanks!
Doc, I have a big radiator also.. Just have to wait for the tabs to get re welded. I am going back to it cause i want to keep my bodywork. Its really nice to tuck behind that wind screen... If they cant fix it ill be calling you.
Thanks Scott, How is your motor? Good news i hope.
Pre Teen, I didn't crash but overall i wouldn't call this a "good luck" weekend motor and all..(call me)
Thanks Bill, an easy mission to accomplish for most but a first for me. Now to complete my plan i have to make it through the next Loudon round with out crashing.
It was a good time, and you definitely looked like you were flying out there.
And I'm NEVER, EVER, for ANY REASON going to a track without bringing my bike again. EVER.

And up until you called them "digits" you could have gotten his # without it being![]()
Says Mr. WFT...:
Damn straight homie. I'm gangsta like that.
And my letter is sent, just no reply from the Don yet. Word on the street is he's waiting for Wanda to send him info. I have the times and the experience but not the Index, we'll see. If he doesn't give me the nod I'll lap a bitch in ptwin on Saturday and then he either bumps me or gets shanked with a brake lever Saturday night.
