ECK Racing #82 Round 4 - Back into the 16's

I'm exhausted but I wanted to post results & a LWSS vid at least... I'll fill in the details later.

Good news is, on Sunday, with fresh tires, I got back down into the 16's

I only did one last year (a 16.5) and this was my first weekend back down in that range with a best of a 16.6. I gotta thank Mullin and Doucette for the tow they gave me in GTL for that

Saturday:
Race 2: Expert LWSB - 4th
Race 6: Expert LWGP - 4th

Sunday:
Race 2: Expert GTL - 3rd
Race 8: Expert LWSS - 2nd

Gohtee:
Won the Championship..... again.

Yeah, there's a loose connection. I used one of those lame vampire clip things to tap into a power source. It's been doin that since forever but I'm finally getting sick of it enough to go in there and do it right.

Traffic.. you either love it or hate it depending on the lap/corner!

The guy in T3 you needed to force the issue and not delay. Passing Traffic is an art form at NHMS... and Ricky is a master at it.

Ha! That was a great trip despite the handlebar... and thanks for scouring your trailer for me, I really appreciated that.

But yeah, traffic can make or break a race for sure. I don't let it frustrate me when it works against me, though. I just look at the big picture and realize it's probably helped me more than hurt me over the years. Hell, it allowed me to get right back on Rick's tail section in LWSS during the Classic weekend. That was a fun race. Bummer it got red flagged on lap 5.

In the T3 pass that gave Rick the lead in the video above, I knew approaching the T3 braking zone that I wasn't going to have a shot of getting the lapper on the inside, but I didn't think he was going to hold me up as much as he did... then he kinda parked it at the apex a little bit & that forced me wide. As soon as I saw the closing speed at my tip-in point, I knew that was probably going to happen and Doucette would take the inside line. Smart move for sure on his part. Looking back on it, my best bet probably would have been to do exactly what Ricky did to defend that inside line.

Great race though. It was fun looking back at the footage and see Ricky actually TRYING to get by in a few places. I thought he was just hangin out behind me waiting to make his move, but it looks like he actually made an effort to get by in a few places and couldn't. That put a smile on my face for sure.

I'm always rooting for you and Mullin to beat Ricky, not because I really want him to lose but its nice having people make him really work for it. I hope you guys have more close battles the rest of the, makes those races a lot of fun to watch. I wish BK didn't get hurt cause he was riding really well up there with you guys too.

Yeah, it really sucks about BK. That guy was on FIAH! It was great seeing him get back to his old self after ditching the 650R. He just couldn't get that thing workin for him. He really found his groove on that SV. Bummer his season is probably done & over with

Great video. I loved seeing the slightly different lines Rick took behind you waiting for an opening, and your lines in the second half. I'll be watching it a "few" more times....

Awesome stuff Pete and congrats on those ludicrous 16's, that is absolutely badass!

Very cool seeing what its like at the front of the pack and yeah, it looked like Rick was trying to get around you on a few occasions but couldnt make it stick.
