I must say that this weekend was for the most part uneventful. I literally went out every session with the mentality of putting the bike on cruise control and sitting back to except the Championships in my 2 classes. This was a predetermined mindset to say the least. each race was broken down mathematically to what was needed to pull off the championship. Well, since Seth Robinson was a no show for the GTU, (race 1) it gave me loads of room to relax and just finish the race without incident. I ended up finishing with a respectable 5th.
Sunday was bitter cold. Going out for first practice with temps in the 30s was not happening!! I race motorcycles, not snowmobiles. The first race was the Unlimited Weight Supersport. This was quite an eventful race from my vantage point. I some how was able to keep up with Anthony on his 1098 and Roger Ealy Jr. Both of whom are capable of running consistent 1:17s. Alas, this race they were only running 19s which gave me the fighting chance I needed before the red flag right after the the halfway mark. Again I managed a 5th.
MWSB: Going in to this race I knew I just had to finish. Right from the start I knew it had the potential to be an amazing race. I took the hole shot and lead all the way out of T2 until I felt the rear slide a little more then I liked. This is when I said to my self let them go. So I took a wide line through T3 allowing a few bikes by. I stayed a little farther bay for the rest of the race. Finishing with a 6th.
UNSS: I ran this race against the Novices because I heard it was fun. Well when one of the Novices crashed in T3 on the siting lap I knew it was going to be interesting. Especially because the individual left a pond of oil at the exit of the corner. This caused all of us to be sent back to our garages. Lucky for me I had literally 10 people jumping to help me get the warmers back on and to get me back out again.
After the start, which I was at the rear because I had no points, everything was going well, just cruising around when all of a sudden coming into T1 I lost all power in my brakes. Lever literally touching the bar! One of those pucker moments when you think, this is it, I'm going to die!!
Managing to slow down enough to "pedal" my way around the track. I was able to finish the race. Fortunately for Jim, he was able to pass me to finish off his season with a bang! Glad I could make your day buddy lol.
See you all either at the banquet or next season.
why couldn't everyone in GTU have a mechanical so I could have won and took the championship.
Good racing with ya Pinky.

Shit man, didn't know you were taking home multiple MW championships. That's damn impressive. Starting as an expert next season?
