With the first round being the exception I'm pretty sure LRRS gridding is still done by points as long as you pre-enter. After that its done by order of entry. Correct me if I'm wrong - with evidence of course

I assume I"m too late to the reg party to get a good grid for any of the NJMP rounds now...

you're forgetting that the other CCS regions travel, unlike the North East region which only has 1 track.
so not all the Atlantic or Mid-Atlantic competitors can go to Summit, VIR, Ohio, NJMP.
