that's it in a nutshell
seriously, got up there mid afternoon Friday, unloaded and prepped. Got at it early saturday morning and was feeling great in second practice...like it was gonna be a good day. then the motor popped.
I relegated myself to pit bitch and threw in a hand where I could. Everybody did great and I'm glad I stuck around to see it
New motor is sourced already....will likely take myself out of the classic to recoup some of my budgeted race funds and give myself enough time to get the bike rebuilt properly (with race kit valve springs, upgraded hoses, etc). I had also ordered a bazzaz race computer and quick shifter plus a quick turn throttle.
After the repairs I'll be spending probably the better part of a day with John @ dyno solutions to get her back to peak and stable performance. the goal will be to set the engine and computer up so that I ring it out safely without blowing it up. a combination of tuning, lowering the rev limiter and the quick shifter will go miles to achieving this.
Thanks to everybody who dropped what they were doing to assess the damage and see if it were possible to get back out there. Sucks I couldn't be out there dicing it up but these things happen and I will get past it
wouldn't have happened if it were a Honda![]()

Chris I cant thank you enough for your help in the pits. I know your weekend sucked badly and I really feel for you. If there is anything you need a hand with during the rebuild process you know where to find me.
Way to keep things in perspective though, I was I was as even tempered...

Bummer! Good that you already have a recovery plan in action. I was told that sticking within a race budget is a bad idea, so maybe you don't need to miss the classic?

LOL...I'm out for the classic. 1 to 1.5 race weekends more than funds the repairs I need. I have a lot of personal things going on (wedding, bdays, etc) between now and the classic, and right after.
so I'm going to take my time, do it right, and come back [hopefully] strong in July. the other guys need the practice anyway:p
Balls man, see ya in July
