What a weekend lots of excitement lots of surprises and good times all around
Saterday:
morning....no front end yet....YAY!!!
i missed both practices in the morning no biggie because my practice usaully suck anyway. Around 12:30pm i finally get the front end on and assembled and get through tech....better late than never.
Race 4: Super Twins
Its wet its rainy not expecting anything to exciting....i completely blew my start. also there was only myself and one other racer....i took first place rain or not 1st is 1st. and i won 5 gallons of gas from VP WOOHOO
Race 7:LWSB
Ok so as i line up to race and this time there are a few more racers...lol 4 others. Green flag drops and yup i fluff the start again...wtf oh well i start doing what i do best and start making up time, and find myself out in the lead relatively early and i started to really get a feel for my awsome pirelli rains. I feel like im clicking off some fast laps and im moving when i come up on an expert on what i didnt know was the last lap(due to my visor fogging)
so naturally my killer instinct kicked in and i wanted to pass him when coming through turn 2 the front slips and i feel like i can save it when.....the rear slides out and im sliding on the pavement....DAMMIT i get up and run to my bike and get it up and running as the pack goes by i get a move on and finish in forth....no trophies boo.
That was my own damn fault for trying to race someone that wasnt even in my race, i blew a 20+ second lead on the last lap i felt like a dumbass but i learned my lesson and wont be doing that again. I looked at my lap times i was clicking off 1:32:00 in the rain consistently woohoo now if i only used my head i would have brought home 2 golds
Sunday:
no practice i did enjoy a nice breakast at the loudon CC on 106, and might i say it was good.
Race 7: LWSS
Ok im finally legal again no more shame. And whats that big bright thing in the sky???omg its the sun WOOHOO dry racing today
Theres around 7 bikes lined up, im abit nervous (first real race in amateur)and yup once again this weekend i shit the bed on the start, grrrr make up time.
Now if i were a smart man i would have changed out my ground down peg from yesterday, so did i no......of course not. I made up time and get the front pack and then begin to miss shift after shift and lose time bad, and find my self in 4th battling for 3rd place with #106 who hasnt been my most favorite person all year no need to get into that. Anyway he has seriously improved his lines and has definetly picked up his pace and man he made me work. I would pass him then he would take me right back FUCK, so finally turn 11 coming up on the white flag lap i made i real deep and late pass exiting 11 and made it stick for the last lap and brought home a 3rd place.
Conclusion for the weekend had a blast in the rain it was amazing. Im so very proud of my team mates for all of there help and support and also there performance's it was super exciting to see John and dave hash it out as well as noel and jim have a scrap. It was good to see RSP represnt and bring home some trophies.
And as always a big thank you to all of my teammates, my mother and sister for coming up to watch me race. Thank you baston moto and scotty for the hook up on my rain tires even at the last minute you guys came through. GMD both mike and pete thank you for all of your help with my front end.
Im am sad to see the 2009 race season end, but i now get to reflect on this past season and take some lessons and many memories to heart of this year and get to look forward to next year. I can only hope all of the current members of RSP will be at it again in 2010 as i know the bonds that were made this i feel have brought us all closer together on and off the track. 2009 was a good season lets look ahead and make 2010 even better.
