06-09 yz450f engine

Looking for an engine. Preferably one that is complete but needs to be rebuilt. Needs to be from an 06 to 09 Yamaha yz450f dirt bike though.

Sam, do a quick ebay search for this. If I remember correctly while searching for an 03 motor I saw a couple of your vintage available.

Searching it everyday, Joel. Complete engines are $1800. I almost had a lower for dirt cheap Sunday, but got out bid.

Yeah, it's seriously cheaper to buy a whole bike. I've been finding them for about $2300 on cl.

Are you against going with an 03-05 generation? I know they only had the 4spd gear box, but the power hit was quite a bit more with the 03-05, vs the 06-09

I already have an 06 motard and a second 06 that needs an engine that I want to use as a "b" bike. Figured it would make it easier parts wise if I ever have to swap from one to the other, as well.

Why? Do you know of an '03 for sale someplace? I am looking for another semi seriously.

I have been thinking of that. I guess I was thinking the engine should be freshened up either way since I'll be abusing it on asphalt at 100mph. Would rather not drop $2300 and then more to do the engine.

Anyways, appreciate all the input, just throwing it out there that if anyone knows of someone parting out a bike or has a blown engine collecting dust, I'm interested.
