99 R6, right front caliper in working condition needed STAT!
Or if you have the rebuild kit that would work too but either way, parts needed like now.
KB1 has a 99 R6 trackbike, don't know if he has any spares, might be worth a shot!
crap...a right side clip on and a caliper?
How soon? Would by Tuesday night be too late or is that do-able?
I could post up on the R6 forums if you like...or on WERA
Paul... I found someone who has one for $50 shipped priority, but it would'nt be in till Weds... I am trying to find out how much it would be to get to you by Tuesday...
WOW..Somebody is awesome..![]()
I kinda miss mine... It was my first *Real* track bike. I wish I kept it.
Now I have Honda love...
That bike will be getting some much needed love next. Starting to feel good enough to wrench again...![]()
Damn Lauren! Put some work in why don't you!
Gotta see what the sis says about the cost. In a perfect world Sunday or Monday would be ideal, Tuesday is cutting way too close as I plan to be packed during the day, work that night then off to the track Wed morning so local to the area is preferred as far as Wednesday is concerned.
The clip ons are workable at the moment. I used one from my CBR spares. They work set up as they are now but I don't see the fairing stay being installed unless the bars are set up in a way so they hit the tank. Right now the caliper or the rebuild kit is what I'm hot for.
I believe other Yamaha models use these same style calipers.....2001-2005 FZ1 as well as the Gen 1 FZ6 both look to be very close

Lauren.. you're a saint! Thanks so much for posting up to all those places for me! If we can get the caliper for Tuesday, that'd be awesome
.. Let me know the cost and who I need to get in touch with
Ok...so they are the same calipers on the '98-'01 R1 and the '99-'02 R6. So any of those years and models will work. Some more options for you...
I'm trying to get a phone number for the guy who has one for sure and will send it along.
I also just put up a thread on Born to try to find something more local.
Update:
I found 2 in NH on ebay. One is at max salvage, one is in Plaistow at Rick's motorcycle. I emailed you and Bergs the info. You would have to contact the vendors to see if you could pick up in person, or if you did the "buy it now" option they could send them one day if they won't let you pick up.... Sometimes if they are internet vendors only they won't let you pick up but you could try...![]()
Bergs that guy across the bridge has some but they aren't cheap.
I have a spare pair in the garage. Can get them to you today
~ Life passes most people by while they're busy making grand plans for it.~
I'm gonna let Kimmy take the helm for now and wait to see what she wants to do.
John - Wish I saw your message earlier but today was a busy day. Woulda been nice to meet up tho.
Lauren,
That is all
She could come hang out in mine.
I need a good woman to make me dinner, as long as she doesnt complain about me using the good towels to dry my hands after I've been working on the bike...
Hi Kimmy!![]()
Is it leaking? If not you can usually take apart, clean and get away with reusing the piston and seals! Worth a shot when in dire need
Seals are torn up.
Trust me when I say replacement caliper or rebuild kit however thank you for the suggestion.
