As much as I loved my Buell.. its like the love of the cuckoo girl friend who looks and rides good but makes you wish you never meet her most of the time...!
You may want to seek counseling or some form of support group and rethink this purchase..

loved my '05 XB12S, i would buy that bike back in a heartbeat if i could. massive love affair. only sold it because i needed a supermoto.

Bah, there is a Ulysses at Rhodes Motorsports in Loudon, but not an XB12.
I owned a xb9s for a number of years. Awesome street bike. 99% of the torque of the 12, but a little revvier motor.
Ergos were great, sound was sweet, and character for days.
Never take one on a racetrack. Do enjoy one of the more fun street bikes made, imo.

I raced an XB12 When it ran it was fun. Handled pretty well and made Gods of torque 90fp at 3500 rpm a real tractor.What did you ride? What specifically did you like/dislike?
Issues, front brake fading and warping .. Crank bearing failures, The rear head got incredibly hot which lead to broken parts. things also tended to shake lose its a Harley after all....
As a street bike the last version of the 12 should be a good bike. the ECU is different from the early models and the crank pin is larger.
Your biggest hassle is going to be parts.. NO new ones( well you might find new but old stock) and very limited after mkt.
Stay away from any high mileage bikes and make sure it was taken care of...
I was a fun bike when it ran but became more of a pain then anything..

I had a 2004 XB12R (black and gold rims) that I did track days with it and even did a long trip to the Tail of the Dragon. That was 2500 miles in a week. The bike ran flawlessly for 29K miles before I decided to make room in the garage for something newer. I hear that around 29K miles the earlier 12's tend to pop. Not wanting to find out I let it go. Loads of wheelies and rev limiter bumps had me thinking it led a tough life under me. Yet it was standard oil changes and normal wear parts and a clutch cable. I thought the bike was the best STREET bike I ever owned. It was great from 0-100 and made 100mph feel like 100mph. The vibration and sound filled in the senses with the rush of speed.
The fix for the weak front brake was the 8 piston race setup and thicker race rotor. Buell XB, 1125, FRONT brake disc with TUV is what you want for the rotor and a good set of pads on the 6 piston stock caliper will be much much better than stock. My brake fluid would boil at LRRS even with this set up. I learned to just ride it like a street bike and not a race bike on the track. No hard braking and carry corner speed.

I find it interesting that HD has the new street series. Makes me wonder what they could be if they didn’t part ways with Buell.

If I came accross a deal on a Buell I would still buy another one in a heartbeat. No denying it was a super fun bike for me. I wish HD never parted with EB.
