Need a gen 1 sv 650 motor. Need preferably by this weekend.
Anything 1999 to 2002 will work.
Preference would be to get something that is stock build.

Seriously though, if I can help. Sadly my stuff ain't for sale at present.
I have an SV I could be coerced to part with. Have been meaning to post pictures but simply haven't got around to it. Motor is a stock bore with slipper clutch, downdraft carbs, Quickshifter, spears lightened flywheel and pods, Gen II cam swap; tuned by Scott Mullin at SVM. TL1000 front suspension (GMD serviced), 6 piston calipers, Penske double clicker rear shock (GMD serviced). Honda F3 rear wheel and TL1000 front wheel powdercoated gloss black. Frame and swing arm were powdercoated flat black. Woodcraft high rear sets, sliders, bars, spools, etc. Sharkskin upper and lowers, gsxr1000 armour bodies rear tail. Battery relocated and set up for total loss. Spare set of SV/TL wheels with rains. Stands.
Bike needs nothing save for some safety wire and for the battery to be reinstalled (it's on the battery tender).

So basically the spark notes version,
Raced round 1 on it, pulled like a mofo like usual.
Want down on hot pit that sunday, didn't seem to be amiss
Was a towards the low mark on oil when I got home from the races
Rode at a track day yesterday, went out for warmup, pit out, pulled the smile maker and she had no balls, guts, power coming out of corners. No guts coming up the hill, no nothing.
Tried a bunch of things to check things out, checked compression, numbers weren't good on the front cylinder, rear was meh but above the limit.
Went home early and checked other items over.
Talked to Scott at SVM this morning, thanks for the help, and seems like my symptoms indicate a possible spun stator side rod bearing. So I have one more thing to check but to make round 2 the new motor is needed.

If you don't find your motor, let's swap your boingers onto my orange wreck and you can race that. Give it back when you get your situation squared away.
Ill keep you all posted, trying to finalize something as we speak.
If that falls through, Colin I will be taking you up on your offer for sure.
I think the fact that this motor has gone through life, Im assuming the last 6 to 8 years as a dedicated track bike with no motor work is semi remarkable.

Unfortunately/fortunately he sold one gave one away. Withdrawal must be setting in.
From outside observation, 3 seems to be his magic number. Waiting for a pair of crazy KDX deals to jump out of the woodwork to round that bunch out.
Viper, if it comes down to it, I can get you a loaner bike/motor for round 2, as time grows short. Bubs will vouch for you, right??![]()

I'm going to buy Smutty's SV since that will get me motor and a whole load of spares. This will also fit my budget, or what isn't left of it and give me time to save for either Sav's motor if its still avalible or save for a supersport build on my motor that just went poo poo.
