Looking for a titled, street legal first bike for a new rider who is roughly 5'6". Ideally Ninja 250 or 500, but could also check out EX-500, GS 550, CB 200-400 etc. No garage (lives in Boston) so I don't think barn finds are what she's looking for, though we could probably do some minor initial fixes for her at our place. Thanks in advance!
Let me be the first to say......
BUSA!
Well, I mean, besides the obvious.
I have a 09 ninja 250 over here for $2900 that very clean if interested

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
Thanks, Justin! I think it's stretching the top end of her budget but I'll pass it along. Got any photos?
I just finished going through a 83 honda nighthawk 550sc. Runs perfect, new tires, enough power to grow into super easy to drive and learn on. The only different from stock is Daytona bars and bar end mirrors. Pm your email if yours would like pics. I'm kinda far but might be able to meet you somewhere.
Along the lines of that nighthawk (had an 83 myself once that I restored) I have an 83 Shadow 750. Recently resurrected after sitting in a garage for 20ish years. Needs absolutely nothing.

If you can find one, a Kawasaki Zephyr 750 or 550 would make a decent starter bike with growth potential. Similar to the equivalent nighthawks, but slightly better looking... I had a 750 for years as my first street bike and kept it as an occasional rider long after I had moved on to bigger and better things.
My then-girlfriend also used it very successfully as her first bike.
