Seems legit, and a good cause, but I have no further info/connections beyond what's below. Reach out to Todd Weed if interested:
David Weed Looking for donations or a deal.
A team of students at Franklin Co. Technical High School are constructing an electric powered road race motorcycle.
We have purchased all of the electrical components necessary and are now searching for a chassis.
The ideal platform may be a 600cc size chassis that has been raced and still has suspension, brakes, clip-ons, rear sets and wheels intact.
Tank, engine, seat, plastics, etc., are not needed.
Or a complete bike that we can strip and sell the unneeded pieces.
The engineering and construction team will be made up of a small group of juniors and seniors from 6 different shops. Electrical, CAD, Machine Tech, Welding, Auto Body and Auto Tech will all be represented. The team will be guided by instructors from each of these shops as well as outside technical support.
Any level of donation is tax deductible.
I can be reached at,
413-834-0472 or tweed@fcts.org
Thanks, Todd Weed

Donating motorcycle parts to a gentleman named Weed seems like a great idea!
So is his name David or Todd?
I think Todd is the father, and Dave is the son, or vise-versa......
