RC51 SP2 (2002+)

Just dropping a post in here in case anybody has any leads.

I'm looking for a 2002 or newer RC51. Below is a list of my personal pros/cons with regards to what I'm looking for. Also, I'm ready to make a move so this could be a quick sale. Looking to spend no more than $5500. Depending on how nice the bike is and the price I'm willing to travel, currently in Boston,MA.

Pros
-CLEAN (normal wear understandable considering their age)
-Relatively low mileage (I would consider anything under 15k pretty low)
-Very light modifications (exhaust, PCIII, windscreen, sliders, pazzos all OK) or Stock

Cons (deal breakers)
-Paint job
-Race ready
-major modifications
-chrome wheels (puke)

Let me know if you have anything or know anybody that is trying to sell.

I changed my mind and decided to keep my RC, but it would have been perfect as matching what your looking for except its an 01. Don't rule out an 01 or 02 if the price and mileage are low. Not much difference between the two to matter...

I've been checking ebay, mostly 05's and 06's the past couple weeks. Also, craigslist all over the place and wera. There was an 04 in Maine that I absolutely dropped the ball on. I was on the Rogue site and didn't quite understand the registration process. I don't really want to pay membership fees just to browse the for sale forum, even though there are probably a ton of good bikes on there.

And maybe you can school me a bit better on significant differences between SP1 and SP2. I figured I would prefer to pay a little bit of a premium for the SP2. Maybe you can change my mind?

There was a pretty clean one on NH Craigslist for $4200
Can't remember now if it was an SP1 or 2 but looked very clean

speedzilla.com is a great place to look. lots of good guys that'll help you out. bad part is that its national, so its tough to find stuff in this area

On a side note.. did you go to UML? I think I rode with you a few years back with Josh Niles. We took off from UML and went down to groton, rode a couple sweet roads. A couple 675's were with us too. Maybe im mixed up...

There is plenty of nice RC51's that fit your description and price tag. You should have no issue finding one.

As a reference I bought by 2004 RC51 98% stock with 4700 miles for $5000 last fall.

Use craigslist search engine, within 200 miles I found some that work for you.

Don't waste the $20 on Rogue I wish I hadn't. I'll look for you and post here if there is anything that fits your criteria.

Ya, I'm assuming patience will be my friend. I've been using CL search engine every day. It sounds like you got exactly the bike I want at exactly the price I want to pay. I think a few people have their asking prices set a bit high with spring coming.

There is one on speedzilla right now only asking $3000, cons: its in cali, and the mileage is high. Keep looking. I know of the one in Maine you were looking at, twas for sale when I picked up mine. That was my second choice. There are screaming deals to be had right now.
