We have a very small driveway but I'm tired of waking up early and shoveling before work. Looking for something relatively small and reliable.
Any suggestions or anyone have one they are looking to sell.
Could consider trading my crf150f for the right machine.
I got a machine I won't be using but its not small. Its not big either. Its older but works mint. Its 8hp. And its got a recent belt. I do not have a pic at this time but when I go to my sisters I will snap one if ya want.
yeah, would like a pic/specs if you get a chance.
thanks!
Don't know how small is small but my Mom has one of those electric Toro Snow Shovels and it works pretty damn well on her two car driveway when I go over and clean up the snow from her place. They aren't really that expensive and very manageable and no need to keep carbs clean. Just need a long extension cord.
Even the heavier wet snow gets thrown fairly well with it, just need to take smaller passes and it takes a little longer. For all but the worst storms we have had in NE it has been plenty.

Good to know Joel, thanks! We have a 2 car driveway as well
And thats what I used it for. 2 cars that got parked in the street plus her sidewalk. It won't be much money either. I paid 150 when it wouldn't work and put a new belt on it and now it works mint.
The Ariens Compact series isn't too expensive. Ariens Sno Tek line is pretty rugged and is lower cost because it has a Chinese made engine.

i have one of these craftsman electric start blowers and my driveway is about 200' long...doesn't handle the deep really heavy wet stuff too well but it works well other than that...my parents have a similar toro blower minus the electric start and theirs works a little better than mine but it's newer also...what's nice is i can fold up the handle like a lawn mower in the summer and stuff it under a table in my garage and having the plug in electric start is nice for that first time you start it each year, after that i never use it cause it's very easy to start...never had to clean the carb since it's a mix i just run the fuel out and store it...starts up just fine every season...a new blower is on my list of things to get at some point just to make it a little faster

Take a picture of your driveway. Mine is maybe 60ft long, straight and flat. I use an old John Deere 10/26 (10hp Tecumseh, 26" wide) and it's been great. I traded a PW80 for it. You can check it out if you like. You're in the next town over from me.
If you can wait, go to the Thompson Swap Meet in November. See my good friend Danny; he's always selling snowblowers right in front of the weighing station. He sells what he fixes and fixes what he sells. Get there early though, he usually sells out of everything but the largest ones.
I had one of these for years just keep a spare belt around

The calculus of hate
It is not that I should win it is that you should lose
It is not that I succeed it is that you fail
It is not that I should live it is that you should die
And the Ariens Sno Tek line, cheaper than Ariens but a hell of a lot better than the Troy-Built, Creaftsman, or Yardman models made by MTD, which suck.

Last year, I sold my 1964 Ariens, and bought a new Sno-Tek to replace it. The Sno-Tek throws snow *a lot further*, but there are some things that were more stout on the older machine. The auger shaft, for instance, is much smaller in diameter, and the shear pins are only 1/4" diameter, instead of 5/16". If you buy a Sno-Tek, make sure you buy a dozen shear pins...
The snap pin wheel drive is also a total PITA when the snow is falling, and you have gloves on. My older model had a simple pull and turn knob to engage/disengage one wheel.

This will be my 4th winter with a now 13 year old hand me down MTD, only issue I have is the floats stick sometimes but I'll be installing a fuel shutoff to sort that issue before it goes into service this winter.
I have a 9 HP 26" cut yardman ( MTD) that is track drive and trigger turn. It is about 9 years old., runs great. If the others offered fall through I can make a good deal on this one.
I'm open to all offers at this point. Feel free to PM or send e-mail to mike dot brayton at gmail dot com.
thanks!
Biggity you can get a decent snowblower used for under 400 bucks.

are you thinking single stage or two stage? and do you have a preference on 2 stroke vs 4 stroke power?
If you can't Race it or take it to bed, it's not worth having..
Not selling mine, but I've got a Toro 221QR, had it for 4 years now. I've got a small driveway (675 sqft), plus a sidewalk, and it works well. It doesn't throw as far as a two stage, but if you're clearing less than 6" of snow, it's a lot faster than a two stage. For >8" of snow, or at the end of the driveway after the plow comes, you have to do smaller passes, but it gets the job done.
But the main reason I got this over a two stage, is that it's a lot smaller, I've only got a 1 car garage. The handle folds down like a lawnmower, and I can store it in the crawlspace under my steps. Check this pic - http://media.toro.com/PublishingImag..._r_dims_2k.jpg
Ariens two-stagemine will last a lifetime. love it.
i also have a Toro 2-stroke single-stage for the walkway but with the snow we get, no way i could have it as my only machine.
Beta 200RR
I will be home Thursday from a Maine trip. I will start and check over the machine and get back to you. Its 8 hp. I will get pics too. For 150 dollars its a bargain.
sounds good
