    Tank bag

    Looking for a magnetic tank bag, big enough to fit a laptop and with a map pocket on the top. Anyone?

    This is a really old photo, but it's one of the Tour Master tank bag I'm retiring, I've had it at least 10 years. It could hold a laptop no problem, then expand to also accomodate work boots, bottled waters, jeesh, tons of stuff!!

    I do think. I have a company issued 15" HP that won't even fit in my givi panniers.

    So yeah, what kind of laptop?

    Nice ZR-7. Had my heart set on one of those when I graduated from school.

    I carry my laptop in my backpack. I have concerns about putting a computer so close to a bunch of powerful magnets. I also am concerned about possible effects of bike's vibrations on it.

    Not exactly sure what size the laptop is actually, not a notebook that's for sure... My guess would be around 15"? Maybe the flex of the textile bag made it work over hard panniers?

    I liked that ZR-7, it was my first "new" bike, treated me very well.

    I actually never thought about the magnet issue, but I've been putting this very laptop I'm typing on in there for years without a problem. Vibes I did take into consideration, I would often have a t-shirt of sweatshirt folded up on the bottom of the bag for cushioning.

    I have this that held a 15" Dell. But tight. On my next replacement I asked for a 13" dell and it fits perfect.


    great for long weekend trips.
