Track/Race SV650, street OK too

My Dad is lookin to come back to the track for more trackdays.

Looking for a SV650. The closer to being ready for the track, the better, but street examples will be considered as well.

Can be ugly. Needs to be mechanically sound.

2004 SV650, cluster says 16k miles.
I binned it in the bowl Round 6 2017. No it hasn't been measured. It's probably tweaked, but what fun is a bike that isn't?

No this one is white with triumph forks. Understand your cost considerations. It was just close and looks nice. You might try the WERA forum there are more then a few on there at any one time,might need to travel to fetch it. Found on on Ebay that's close( street) sorry cant post links. Good luck

Not track ready but there's a fairly clean looking red 2006 w/ 28k and a few aftermarket bits on FB Marketplace for $1600 OBO in Woolwich, ME. Think it said it needs throttle body cleaned or something small and it'll need some clip ons. Been on there for months so it might be had for very cheap, just FYI.

Have briefly considered picking it up, tuning it up and making it track-able and selling it in Spring.

The white one belonged to Marwan.. I think that's the kids name. Beautiful bike. Triumph front end on it.. first time I'd seen that done.
I think Doug and I helped put the rear-sets on that bike. So. You know. I'd check those.

Seen it, avoiding. It should NOT have throttle body issues at 28k. I have the same year/color/mileage on my SV. That thing is beat.

He's inquired about a 2004 for similar money in nice shape. Cheapest isn't priority, best bike for a reasonable amount is.

Cheap ugly SV. That's what he wants. Mine isn't ugly, and I'm not about to pass on the best all around bike I've ever owned to someone who will use it twice a year.

He's done trackdays on an EX500. He doesn't want one. I can't blame him. SV is just all sorts of better.

He doesn't want an F4i, or any other inline 4.

Yummycheese is selling his gen 2 for 1500 bucks i think. Clean gen 2 with some upgrades like suspension. Nothing to crazy. Its a track day bike. Hit him up. He is a good guy
