Looking to buy a new bike this year, anyone have a Sprint ST 2007 or newer? Or, anyone know of good place to look for one? I've done the CL and ebay searches but can't come up with anything close.
TTT
I'll be pulling the trigger soon. Anyone got a Sprint for sale in the NE that can save me a road trip.
Still looking.
Why not a 2006? Lots of them on CL...
I settled for a 2006 with the hard bags and ABS and put some risers on (only about an inch of rise, and I would like the full 3" of the new stock clip-ons but don't feel like spending the money to buy all of the parts necessary).
For awhile Triumph offered to perform a courtesy service to install some new foam pieces in the older bikes to help with the heat issue, but it's really hard to figure out if that was installed and I haven't been able to find a source for that kit, as my dealer didn't seem to know much about it.
Are you sure you want the Sprint? I would honestly look at the Tiger 1050, but don't go with the factory bags as the one on the right is laughably small. It has better suspension, better brakes, is more comfortable, and doesn't run nearly as hot. Or go with one of the new Tiger 800s if you can find one/afford one.

Never thought about buying a Tiger, I've never been too crazy about how they look. I'm on a Sprint RS right now and LOVE it so the obvious progression for me would be to switch to a ST. Good suggestion though, thanks!
I wasn't too crazy about them at first either, but they have grown on me, and the heat from the ST gets annoying and uncomfortable at times, though I am trying two new potential remedies this year so that should be less of an issue. Also the headlights aren't that great (in a corner anyway, they are great for straight line driving). The Tiger doesn't have any of those downfalls, plus with less plastic is easier to work on. If I could do it all over again I would get a Tiger instead and throw some after market cases on it.

When it comes time for me to buy a sport touring bike I'm going to look for one on the West Coast, so I can ride it back. Look at the chance to buy a new bike as the opportunity for a kick ass trip.
Buy one far away!
When you say heat, are you talking about stuck in traffic only or does it get hot when your moving too? My RS will heat up pretty good in stop/go traffic but cools off quickly once I'm moving.
When it is hot, any city driving gets very hot, very quickly, and the bike doesn't cool off that much when riding, though you can vent non-engine air towards your legs at least. I can also feel the heat coming off the bike even when it is 40 degrees out if I am stopped at a red light. With jeans it is bad enough to feel like it is actually burning the insides of my legs (when it is at it's worst). But! I found that I can lower the temperature at which the fan turns on, and that seems to have helped a bit, and I'm going to add some water wetter and see if that makes a difference. The problem is that the heat that does get generated tends to vent right onto your legs, and with the underseat exhaust everything tends to get toasty.
