I'm looking for a non-working musket or antique rifle to hang over my mantle. This is for decorative purposes only. Any leads suggestions would be appreciated.
Let me ask my dad.
They sell them as kits for you to finish, go flintlock squirrel gun

you can buy a milsurp T53 rifle for 90dollars and remove the firing pin. Unless you don't have a mass LTC then forget about that.
Thanks guys. No license so it can't be operable. I'm definitely looking for something weathered and a little beaten. I don't want anyting new looking.
There are replicas made of pot metal. Otherwise you might need a trigger lock [for a rifle that is not antique]. I'm serious.

“It's 2 minutes for any capable adult.”
Any firearm with a receiver actually made before Jan. 1, 1899 is legally "antique." and not considered a "firearm" under Federal law
I left my dad a voice mail. I'll know later today. I am sure he has or know's of one.
Cool - thanks.
He currently doesn't have anything complete. He has everything but the stock. If you feel like whittlin' I can get you the rest of the parts ....
