Hello everyone, I am new to NESR and I am looking to make the big jump this year and join the track at Loudon. I'm panning to attend the Boston Moto track day on June 10th and unfortunately due to my work schedule (I sail on ships as a Marine Engineer) I am getting a late start to getting home. I am flying in from overseas to Washington and then will be driving my truck cross country beginning of next week to move all my stuff (Including my motorcycle) back home to NH. But because I don't think I'll be getting into NH until about Saturday night on the 8th, I'll have only 1 day to get everything ready for the track day.. which also means I won't have much time to search for a track bike!! If I'm not able to find a track bike in time I will be putting race fairings on my street bike and retiring it from the street sooner than I would like... I also know its also a lot bigger of a bike than I want at Loudon (I have an R1)
So... I've seen a few bikes for sale in the "for sale" section but I figured I'd make my own WTB post. Anyone in the NH area have a track ready bike they are wishing to sell that I can come take a look at on Sunday the 9th or if you are going to the BOMO track day on the 10th you could bring to sell? I'd say I'd consider ALMOST anything at this point so I don't not have to worry about dropping my street bike on the 10th Lol.
Thanks to anyone that can lend me a hand in finding a track bike!
~Dave
Good luck finding a bike! You make have more success than you think. The weekend of the 8th is the weekend of the Loudon classic. Generally during race weekends there are a few race bikes parked up for sale near the bathrooms at the track. That being the biggest race weekend of the year I'd bet you will have a selection or 4 or 5, if you don't find one on here of course. If things are getting close and you have a bit of time head down there Saturday or Sunday. I'm not a racer, but, from what I have seen on Fridays before the races and hear about at the races there should something there. A racer could chime in if I'm getting it wrong. I'd suggest an SV 650 (Yes I'm biased).
Anyway I'll see you on Monday @ Bomo. It should be a great time! I'm the big bald dude with a beard riding a blue street SV. Come say hi.
The classic is the weekend after. 14-16

Maxim - I'll be sure to stop by!
I'm working on getting an SV650 right now but not sure if its going to work out... It's hard to convince someone trying to sell something to NOT sell it for a week! LOL
This is your first track day? You can run you R1 in stock form. You do not need a race-bike to do a track day.
I've been twice, both times on my ho-hum adventure touring 650.. no problems. Actually the opposite; a lotta lotta fun. At my last visit there were several super-sports in street trim out there. Just go easy and don't crash.. which isn't horrible advice regardless of what you are riding.
I'd say run what you've got for your first visit, then go shopping. Take your time and find what you want.

Well I'm a little more ambitious and looking forward to running in the LRRS for the July race. So finding a bike already set up is ideal. I'd rather not risk my street bike... YET.
I understand what you are saying bubba but if I was to ride my bike I don't feel I would be able to push myself, or my bike, to the get the results I want on the Loudon track. I feel it's just a bit too small for a liter bike to run wide open.
Ideally I'm looking for a smaller bike that I can gain experience in and shy from having to hold back in fear of cracking it up.
Also under current LRRS classes my bike only qualifies for a couple races, so having a smaller bike such as a v-twin like an SV i could enter multiple races = more experience.
Sheppo's bike- Is it going to be anywhere near Loudon the weekend before BOMO?![]()
Sheppo is just down in Chelmsford/Westford. He isn't far.
So is this you FIRST experience on the track? First experience on the track and then signing up for LRRS the month after? That's balls.
Clearly any advice I could give does not apply. Good luck.
I've got a turn key SV ready to go. I live near Doc who instructs for Bomo so we can probably work on getting it delivered to the trackday.
Yep, I can bring the SV down. I was planning on riding it a bit but if you want to buy it I will just ride the ZRX1200R. (See you CAN ride a BIG bike at Loudon)![]()

JC/Doc, I'm interested. Can you PM me with some more information? That would work out perfectly if you could bring it to the track day. Also would it happen to be "race ready".. say if I survived my first week at the track and make it alive to the rookie race that weekend?![]()

You'd just need tires and a transponder and you'd be ready to race.
I'll be at the classic with the GS if it's still available. I am going to try and be at Loudon on 6/8 for the USCRA races with it.
I pray it doesn't happen Doug, till after I work a metric fuckton of OT during the week of the 4th. Want.

I have a few track rental bikes left for Bomo on 6/10 if you rather go that route giving you more time to find the right bike & not having to rush things looking for the right bike. If I can help let me know 508-379-0100 Justin

Justin, I'll definitely be taking a trip down to your store in the near future!
