Wtb: GSXR600 / R6 street

Kid from work is looking. This is my effort of helping me find one lol. 05 and newer preferably.
Let me know what you guys have. It d be cool to help two people out with a buy/sale.

I'd recommend a GSXR out of those 2 choices. An R6 makes a great track bike, but a shitty street bike.

Just wondering, why avoid the 04-05? Best looking ones, imo.

looks maybe, but that's just about it.
the calipers were terrible. they started radial master cylinders in 05 i believe, so the 04 might have a non-radial master cylinder. i never heard anything good about the 04-05 generations. they've been the least popular of GSXRs from what i've seen.
the 06-07 seem to still be the most popular for street and track riding. smooth power delivery, and tons of parts available online.

I might be interested in selling my 06 R6 track bike all setup with Penske Triple in the rear, it also has a clean title that you can register for the street. Only downfall is you'll have to buy street plastics, all the lights & turn signals. Hit me up if you're interested. Looking to get $4500.

I don't know that I'd call the R6 a shitty streetbike, but I do agree that the slower, more comfortable, lower quality, and uglier GSXR is a better choice for the street

Sportbike, yes. I've had a couple KTM Motards/dirtbikes and an Aprilia SXV550.
For what it's worth, I'd take an R1 again in a heartbeat over the Aprilia

I rode my r6 stock on the street and it scared the shit out if me. The front end is as stable as jimmy after 2 drinks walking a tight rope.

I wish I could Doug, and that sounds like a great buy for sure! I don't dislike the Aprilia enough to take a big lo$$, so i'm in that bike for the long run
