WTB: Starter bike in New England area

Hey, my cousin is looking to get her first bike. Anyone have anything for $3,000 or less that'd fit the bill? SV650, CBR250/300, Ninja 250-400, etc.

Such a blast to ride. I wish I kept mine for the wife to learn on. Think I sold it for like $700 just before Covid. 2006 w/ 14k
