Re: Cycles 128 Sucks Again
OK, any problem with me deleting it from anyone? Especially Elissama101 (who has vito right now as it's her thread and it doesn't violate any rules...yet)
if no objections, it will be gone in 5 minutes.

So, you went from finding used Michelins, to finding used Pirellis and now you grace Dunlop with using their customer's "left by the dumpster" tires.

If you see reason to delete it then I do not have a problem. I think however that this discussion showed how a forum can work - it stayed on topic and while got a little out of hand - still maintained a degree of integrity / allowed people to see others opinions.
I think it is good to see things like this thread. It shows people what to do, or not do when interacting with others as well as allows for communication between people who had issues with each other - even if it was indirectly and through a business and an individuals practices.
I would say keep it up but I won't complain if you choose to get rid of it.

OK, it stays open. As long as people want to discuss this topic, it's fair game. get nasty and it will be deleted.

You need the rest of the quote for context.
I expect it based on the assumption of how businesses operate and how when you buy something they usually say - if you need anything else please come back we'd be happy to help.

Let me paint you a picture, I'm teaching at a trackday.
"Yeah, I was running 20's on my motard this weekend on a set of junk dunlop tires that some guy tossed in the trash, they felt great and had tons of grip, you can imagine how great a new set would handle."
I object to deleting this thread. BTW. It's the review of a shop and has valueable information in it for anyone considering doing business there.

Why don't you show us, ONE post of mine on here that is "baiting"?
If you can prove I've baited anyone in this thread/topic, I'll leave the site forever.

Just for measure, that set of pirelli slicks I found in the north garages felt pretty good on the 929 too.

how the hell did I find this thread?
I award you all no points...and may God have mercy on your souls

Re: Cycles 128 Sucks Again
So lemme get this straight:
You gave a service department all of 15 seconds to remove your tank in order to check your battery, they said "no" but gave you other solutions to check/ correct the issue and because they didn't turn a wrench for free that makes them suck?
Wow.
FWIW; I have very good relations with Hudson Cycle Center and guess what, I've never asked them to turn a wrench for free or borrow tools.....and yes, I've spent many thousands of dollars there.
I understand why the techs didn't want their tools to be lent out....that's their money-maker and risking a broken tool isn't worth it.
If you own tools then you understand why any respectable tech doesn't lend out his/ her tools, if you don't (which it's fairly obvious you don't) then you cannot grasp the concept.

It still amazes me after a few years that a couple wrenches let me work out of their toolboxes after seeing the Snap-On bills to stock them... One of those tool boxes costs more than some new cars?!

Try rereading and if you still feel that way I'm sorry. Also your tone is needlessly hostile.

Re: Cycles 128 Sucks Again
I read it just fine the first time.
You asked for free service, to which they declined and now this thread shows up.....all that other stuff in between is subjective (the supposed attitudes, etc).
And what's hostile about my post? Because it's not sugar-coated? Because I'm calling it like I see it? Well okay then.
Plain and simple, you asked to borrow tools...the answer was no....you asked to have someone remove a tank to access the battery...the answer was no...so instead of trying the suggestions offered to you, you decide to post how much a particular establishment sucks because you didn't get the free service you feel you're entitled to.
Again, the attitudes thing is subjective and holds no merit here, IMO. Who's to say you didn't show an attitude once you realized you weren't getting free service which possibly set off a reaction from the person you dealt with?
You wanted wrenches turned for free, the answer was no. End of story.
Methinks the customer sucked in this scenario, not the dealer.

Re: Cycles 128 Sucks Again
bergs, you're too late, you missed the rumble. We've moved on to lollypops, hugs & teddy bears.

Re: Cycles 128 Sucks Again
One more thing, you wanna consider which posts are hostile, what with you calling people assholes and saying F-U to the dealership.
You know what they say:
Point your finger and there's three pointing back at you.
(give it a try, you'll see)

You obviously didn't read. She has leads coming out for her battery tender. The only 'tool' needed was the multimeter, but the DEALERSHIP told her to take the battery out, which would have required tools.

Not in it for the rumble. Just can't wrap my head around the thought process in which people spend a few dollars at a given place and expect free stuff as they see fit. Once that's clearly explained to me I too will move on to lollypops, hugs & teddy bears.
