I recently bought a Tourmaster Synergy Heated Jacket, and on the third time I used it, it failed. Like an idiot, I had thrown all of my packaging away so the vendor (Tonker.com) wouldn't take it back. Now, I don't know if you've ever been to the site, but Tourmaster lists NO contact number... just an email.
Which they don't respond to.
So today, I googled "tourmaster contact," and found a number on thier HelmetHouse website under Privacy Policy.
Here's the number, write it down because you'll have a hard time finding it: 818-880-0000
The dude I needed to talk to wasn't in, so I was forwarded to his VM. I just heard back from him! He's going to send me a replacement control unit free of charge, and I don't even need to send my busted one back.
Sure, this is a case of "let the consumer troubleshoot our product," but it WAS cheaper than any other electrics on the market, and it IS a new tech.
So I guess this is a positive review.
That's too bad that the jacket failed. I have read a handful of posts about people's heat controllers failing on the vests.
I'm still thinking of trying one out despite what I've read. It sounds like the jacket provides a ton of nice, even heat.
