Got a Hiflo Filtro air filter off Amazon for my SV... Tried dropping it in and it didn't fit in the airbox properly. Compared it side by side w/ the stock filter and the outer plate is about 1/8th of an inch too short front to back and about 1/8th of an inch too narrow side to side.

So I contact the company directly to give them a heads up to see if they wanted to see it, figuring they'd like to see if it was a quality control issue and figure out why. No response after almost a week so I send it again. A few more days go by and "Lili" responds to say they don't sell on Amazon but would "look into it". I wait a few more days & don't hear anything so I send her the link. She responds after another few days go by like she didn't give a shit and tells me I should send it back to Amazon.

Well thanks... Appreciate the apathy.



UPDATE: Returned the first one to Amazon for a replcement.... Got it and experienced the same thing.

Sent an update to Lili to let her know of a possible quality control issue and she never bothered responding.

Nice to know she cares....................

Counterfeit part maybe? Was it sold by Amazon, or just relisted by them?

Sold by Amazon.
Counterfeit or not, it was the response by the company turned me off more than anything else.

Just contacted Amazon about getting a free exchange as a replacement just to see what happens w/ the next one.

Id be willing to bet youd get the same response from a lot of companies when something is sold through a third party and not a vendor for that company

Perhaps... but I wouldn't expect the same level of apathy. She showed absolutey zero interest in the situation. It's still their product and I'm still a paying customer.

So.... To summarize, I got two different HifloFiltro air filters through Amazon.... both had the exact same problem. Returning them both to Amazon for a full refund.

I updated "Lili" (who works for "Bike Alert", their worldwide distributor) and it seems like she couldn't care less because she hasn't even bothered replying to my last email.

I've used their filters a lot, oil anyway. Sad to see their customer service is affected by asshats, but can't say I'm surprised.
